The Beginning

A sense of... being lost has began to drown me. I have had the WORST artists block ever. I've tried to sketch random images that pop into my head when I listen to songs... and lets just say that didn't turn out too well. I'd say I haven't really worked on a piece of art that makes me go, "Wow. This is the best thing I've done." or "This is going to be what I strive towards from now on." or better yet, "This is so amazing that my head is going to explode from ideas and my hand is a miracle because it can't stop drawing amazing things."

How does one get over a major art block?

It's an odd feeling... having an art block. It's like I'm missing something inside of me. Like I'm broken. Something I've never come across. It's like my imagination has gone on vacation without telling me. "Hey babe. It's been a good 16 years, but this thing between us. Uh yeah. It was just a thing. Nothing more. No hard feelings." I could see my imagination saying that to me.

To remedy myself of this block I am going to challenge myself, force myself to chose an object/an emotion/a something-mer-other and do one sketch per day, for an entire year. Have I ever finished anything like that or even committed myself to something like that. ...once... and as you can see that hasn't worked out well either. There will be days where I miss some, due to vacations, even more blockage of creation, or other engagements. So some days I'll submit more than one picture. I will probably have more then one sketch/drawing done in that day, and I will post the better of the group.

I have my first 30 days planned out, I've stolen it from Facebook's 30 Day Photo Challenge thingy... Screw photos. I'm drawing everything out. Even the ones of self portraits and things that seem outlandish. Once the 30 days are up I'll be scrounging around for more ideas, so don't be afraid to comment on my page with more ideas.
